After drawing the design on my tile, I got the urge to add some radiating lines to each of the "petals". I went in one direction with a red pen and in the other direction with a violet pen. I think it created an interesting effect, especially after shading the petals.
This time I drew the variation that you can see in Emiko's video thumbnail as well as in Linda's post at TanglePatterns.

Here is yet another wonderful design by Nidhi Prakash. I followed THIS video on YouTube. Nidhi actually drew a much larger mandala on a 10-inch tile in the video. I wanted to use a 6-inch tile so I scaled the design down with a few tweaks.
As I mentioned in THIS post, I did draw this mandala design again. This time on a sort of sage green/beige tile and in a completely different color scheme. I used red, blue, green and yellow colored pencils and accented the design with a metallic silver gel pen.

"Aunt Flower" is by Carolyn, who is Damy Teng's niece. Her step-out is posted HERE at TanglePatterns. I actually followed THIS video tutorial by Barbara Langston CZT when I drew my tile. I embellished mine a little differently than Barbara does in her video but I kept some of the same elements. What looks like a pink halo around the design is actually graphite shading. This paper color is problematic for my scanner. There is no way to edit it without ruining the other colors so I just left it as is.
Here is another beautiful mandala design by Nidhi Prakash. You can watch her video HERE on YouTube. This is one of my new favorites and I hope to draw another one soon. This is a 6-inch cream colored tile and I used colored pencils and metallic bronze gel pen for the coloring.
To draw today's tiles, I followed THIS video by Tangledyogi. I drew both of them on 3.5x3.5 inch tiles instead of 5x5-inch tiles like Romi uses in the video. On my original tile below, I spaced everything as shown in the video pretty much and it's a little cramped for space. For my second tile I decided to draw the elements a bit larger so that I'd have more space to add the color.

I have blogged about "Elven" before HERE but this time I used Eva Wu's method which I saw in her YouTube video which you can watch HERE. I have struggled with drawing this pattern, and even came up with my own way to draw it, but Eva's method is by far the easiest.

I bought an 8x8 inch square frame to put it in. I found the frame at Walmart for under $2.00. They also have 4x4 inch frames for under $1.00 that are perfect for the standard size tiles. Below you can see my original tile for comparison.
