Today's Tangle - Rush Hour

The "Rush Hour" design came from a book of quilting patterns but I learned about it from THIS YouTube video by Annie Reiser CZT (Botangle).

While I was drawing it, it seemed familiar to me as if I had drawn something like it before. I browsed the scans of my tangle drawings and discovered that "Rush Hour" is actually the same design as a pattern called "Squoven" by Mandy Needham which I blogged about HERE. Her step-out was posted at Pattern-Collections but that site has closed down. You can see it HERE on Pinterest. Ellen Wolters had done a video tutorial about "Squoven" HERE. Gamze Soydogan also has a tutorial video for "Rush Hour" HERE.

I'm not happy with the tile below but thought I'd show it to you anyway even though I think it's too busy.

Today's Tangle - Bichorn

"Bichorn" is by Isabel Gil and her step-out is posted HERE at TanglePatterns. This tangle is so pretty that I decided to draw it again using different colors this time. The raggedy gold border wasn't intentional but I kind of like how it looks. My metallic gold pen worked fine for filling the orbs but it wouldn't draw lines without skipping.

I've seen this idea posted here and there on Facebook and thought I'd give it a go. This mash-up of "Dust Bunny" and "Papermint" is the idea of Aishwarya Darbha and she blogged about it HERE. She also posted two YouTube videos showing how to draw this HERE and HERE.

Video Tutorial - Starlight Zentangle by Tangledyogi

To draw today's tiles, I followed THIS "Starlight Zentangle" video class by Romi Marks. Romi shows three different designs in her video and this the main one that she presents. I used a 3.5x3.5 inch tile which is smaller than Romi uses.

Below is the first tile that I drew yesterday. It was inspired by a tile that was posted on Facebook by Terri Oliver Young. She tweaked the center design a bit. Since I hadn't yet tried Romi's version, I also drew the tile above.

This is yet another tile with a "Bales" string. This time I used "Sistar" which is by Hanny Nura. I blogged about it before HERE. The tangle inside the "Bales" is called "Bummel" and it is by Silke Wagner. I blogged about "Bummel" HERE.

Today's Tangle - Clamz & Lex in a Bales String

I was inspired by some tiles that I had seen recently on Facebook and Instagram to draw tangles inside of a "Bales" string. "Clamz" was a perfect fit and one of my favorite patterns. I used "Lex" as a sort of wallpaper to fill the openings between the "Clamz".

"Zig" is by Angie Gittles CZT and I found her step-out HERE on Pinterest. The step-out mentions TanglePatterns but I don't see it posted there. In fact, she has a Pinterest board devoted to her tangle patterns HERE and some of her other patterns are posted at TanglePatterns.
