ReplyDeleteJust spotted this post and noticed the tangle is very similar to All About V (on Tangle Patterns) which I was using the other day. I thought I'd mention it as I know you like spotting connections between tangles!
Hi Jem. It's good to see you again. You're right that Escamas looks very similar to All About V. I do have that pattern in my stash but haven't drawn it yet so I took a look at the step-outs and compared them. The methods used are very different. All About V is drawn free form and Escamas is drawn on a grid. I think that All About V has a more organic look than Escamas.
DeleteYou're right - they are drawn differently. Which is why your Escamus looks a lot neater than my All About V. I like the variations in suggested shapes for the latter though - and the fills in Escamus are nice.
