Saturday's Tangle - In-N-Out Well

Today is my Dad's birthday and this is the tile that I used on his birthday card. Below you can see what the front and back of the card look like. Click on the picture to see it larger. I glued the original tile onto the front of the card and printed the text and a scan of the design on the back of the card using the same color card stock that I used for the tile.

I don't know of a step-out for this pattern. It's from a post by Diana Marshall in a private Facebook group that I belong to. I posted another example of this design HERE on my blog. I actually made a tiny mistake when drawing this tile. It's not a big deal but the lines on the purple sections are going the wrong direction.

UPDATE 8/6/2018: There is now a step-out available for this pattern HERE at Pattern-Collections.com. The name of the pattern is "In-N-Out Well".

UPDATE: The Pattern-Collections website has shut down. Click HERE to view this pattern.

Friday's Tangle - Navaho

I drew this "Navaho" tile to possibly use on my Dad's birthday card. Check back tomorrow to see which tile I ended up using on his card.

I blogged about this pattern once before HERE. "Navaho" is by Caren Mlot CZT and this her variation 3. You'll find the step-out HERE on her blog.

Thursday's Tangle - Maryhill

I first blogged about this pattern called "Maryhill" HERE. It's by Betsy Wilson CZT and she posted the pattern HERE on her blog. Melinda Barlow CZT has a video HERE and there is another video HERE at Bunte Galerie.

I'm not entirely pleased with the coloring that I did on this one. I had to be careful not to let the colored pencil touch the lines so the color looks kind of splotchy. I much prefer the results I got with my first "Maryhill" drawing. The color is splotchy on that one too but it gave it the effect of worn paint on old wood.

For comparison, here is my first "Maryhill" tile:

Wednesday's Tangle - Breezy

I liked the shape of this pattern called "Breezy" but it looked very plain when drawn as the pattern shows. I embellished the heck out of it and this is the result. The pattern is by Shirley Wohlsen and I found it on the Line Weaving Community Forum HERE. I think you may have to be a member to see the pattern. If you can't access the pattern, you can join the forum HERE. There is another tangle pattern called "Breezy" HERE on the Sandra's Tangles blog but it's not the same design that I used.
