"CARP3" is by Georgianna Klein CZT and her pattern is posted HERE at TanglePatterns. This is pretty much the same as the pattern called "Rugz" by Donald Wilka CZT but with a different flower design. I blogged about his version HERE. Both of them were inspired by the same hotel carpet at the Zentangle CZT seminar but Donald attended the seminar the year before Georgianna. Both patterns are actually a variation of the official Zentangle pattern called "Huggins". The only difference is that they start with a grid of flower-like shapes instead of orbs. I wonder if "Huggins" was also inspired by the hotel carpet???

Unfortunately, the pale aqua that I used to decorate this design wasn't picked up very well by my scanner. It looks so pretty with the metallic gold accents.

Today's Tangle - Akebia

"Akebia" is by Gloria Barocio CZT and her step-out is posted HERE at TanglePatterns. I couldn't resist drawing this pattern again with more "Akebias" this time. I used a terracotta chalk pencil for the shading and it got a little smudgy. I decided that it didn't look too bad so I left it that way.
