Today's Tangle - Gemiko + Waybop
"Gemiko + Waybop" is from THIS YouTube video tutorial by Emiko Kaneko CZT. This was so much fun to draw that I had to draw another one. You can see my first tile HERE. Once again I drew mine on a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch tile instead of a round Zendala tile. This time I added some metallic bronze accents and used different tangles for the corners and border.

Today's Tangle - Gemiko + Waybop
"Gemiko + Waybop" is from THIS YouTube video tutorial by Emiko Kaneko CZT. I previously blogged about "Gemiko" HERE and HERE. "Waybop" is an official Zentangle pattern and the step-out is posted HERE in the Zentangle newsletter.
It took a bit of planning to make Emiko's design fit on a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch tile (she used a round Zendala tile). I marked out several concentric circles in pencil so that I would know where to draw each row of the design and not run out of space. I drew some of the patterns differently than in the video but the over all look of my tile is very similar to Emiko's example.

Classic Zentangle® - Dewd, DooDah, Indy-Rella & XYP
Back in May of 2019, I drew a tile nearly identical to this one for the Today's Tangles: Keeping it Classic Facebook group. I just discovered that I had never scanned this tile or blogged about it and I have no idea why. I don't even remember why I drew two of the same tiles. You can see my previous tile in THIS post.
These are the tangles that I used:
Dewd - I blogged about "Dewd" HERE.
DooDah - I blogged about "DooDah" HERE.
Indy-Rella - Read about "Indy-Rella" in THIS post.
XYP - I blogged about "XYP" in THIS post.

Today's Tangle - Tangled CloiZENne
The inspiration for my "Tangled CloiZENne" tile was a project by Lynn Mead that I read about in the "Anything Goes - Tangled Art For Everyone" Facebook group. If you are a member of the group, you can click HERE to see her example tiles. I don't have her tutorial but I came up with something similar using supplies that I have on hand.

Today's Tangle - Pamela
"Pamela" is by Margaret Bremner and her pattern is found HERE on her blog. Once I got the hang of it, this tangle was fun to draw so I kept adding more of them to my tile. The gold spirals and dots are just for embellishment.

Today's Tangle - Ready for Spring
"Ready for Spring" is by Melinda Barlow CZT. There isn't a step-out for it so you'll have to watch Melinda's YouTube video to find out how to draw it. Click HERE to watch the video. I started my tile with a 4x4 square pencil grid which I divided into triangles leaving the four center squares empty.

Today's Tangle - Damsel Leaf
"Damsel Leaf" is by Annett Rümpler CZT and her pattern is posted HERE on her blog. This looks the same as a pattern called "Coffeebean Flower" which you can find HERE at Pattern-Collections. I blogged HERE about "Coffeebean Flower" back in 2019. I recently came across "Damsel Leaf" and discovered that it was published in 2017 long before "Coffeebean Flower".

Today's Tangle - Cadooh
"Cadooh" is by Ria Matheussen CZT and her pattern is posted HERE at TanglePatterns. I added some white charcoal auras and tipple to my tile. I went over the tentacles and filled in the tipple with a clear glitter pen. I wish you could see how the tile sparkles in the light.

Today's Tangle - Amazing Spider
Someone on Facebook asked me if it matters where you start drawing this pattern on the grid. I didn't know the answer to that question so I gave it a try. It turns out that where you start the first "spider" can make a difference in how the design looks in the corners.
On today's tile I drew the first spider in one of the corners of the grid and I was pleased to find that it came out much more symmetrical when done that way. Each corner of the tile has a fan in it instead of odd bits and pieces of the other shapes. Below are five diagrams that illustrate the steps that I use when drawing this pattern in order to get fans in the corners.
I start with a 7x7 square pencil grid and draw the first spider as shown above.
Next I draw dots where the centers of each spider will be positioned on the grid. If you look closely, you'll see that there is a regular pattern for the placement of the dots. They run in diagonal lines with three grid squares between each dot going horizontally and vertically.
Next I add a circle at every grid intersection that doesn't have a dot.
Above you can see the first diagonal row of spiders.
The diagram above shows the next row of spiders in red. I rotated the tile all the way around so that I could draw them in the same direction as the first row of spiders. Remember that the six legs of the spiders always go from a dot to a circle and never from a circle to a circle.
"Amazing Spider" is by Hennie Brouwer and she posted her pattern HERE on Facebook. The step-out is also available HERE at Pattern-Collections. Ellen Wolters has a video tutorial HERE.
Below I've posted one of my previous "Amazing Spider" tiles so that you can see how different the corners look when you draw the first spider near the middle of the grid as shown on the step-out:
