The Twelve Days of Zentangle® - Day 12
Merry Christmas everyone!
The Day 12 video is presented by Maria. I didn't have much luck drawing the wavy "capes" that Maria added to her Mookas so I added something a little different to mine. I drew the tile below first but wasn't happy with the white chalk background so I drew the tile above and left that off.

The Twelve Days of Zentangle® - Day 10
The Day 10 video is presented by Maria. I drew this tile with the point at the bottom but I've decided that I like it better this way up. I don't have the project pack so I am making do with supplies that I have on hand.
Check out THIS YouTube video by Shie Naritomi where she draws a fun variation of the Day 10 tile.

The Twelve Days of Zentangle® - Day 8
The Day 8 video is presented by Maria and features "Moon Pie" and "DooDah" along with a few other tangles. I don't have the project pack so I am making do with supplies that I have on hand. One thing that I do have now is a Van Dyke Brown chalk pencil like the one in the project pack.

The Twelve Days of Zentangle® - Day 7
The Day 7 video features "Paradox" and "Flux" and is presented by Rick. I used a standard size square tile for today's drawing. I don't have the project pack so I am making do with supplies that I have on hand.

The Twelve Days of Zentangle® - Day 6
The Day 6 video features "Scena" and is presented by Martha and Molly. I've gotten a little behind in my drawings and I'm also waiting to draw the projects for days 7 and 8 until I receive some pastel chalk pencils, and other drawing supplies, that I ordered from Blick. They're scheduled for delivery sometime today. One of the pencils is the same color that comes in the project pack.
Instead of connecting four Bijou tiles, I used a standard size tile for today's drawing. I also decided not to fill the center entirely with gold since I used a metallic gold gel pen instead of paint.
I don't have the project pack so I am making do with supplies that I have on hand. I cut my tile out of card stock and used a metallic gold Gelly Roll pen instead of the paint that comes in the kit. Instead of using a pastel pencil, I'm using a regular terracotta colored pencil and blend it with odorless mineral spirits.

The Twelve Days of Zentangle® - Day 5
Day 5's video is presented by Maria.
I don't have the project pack so I am making do with supplies that I have on hand. I cut my tile out of card stock and used a metallic gold Gelly Roll pen instead of the paint that comes in the kit. The Twelve Days of Zentangle® - Day 4
Day 4's video is presented by Julie and she draws the tangle "Sand Swirl" on a triangular 3Z tile. My gold Gelly Roll pen was starting to run out of ink so I ended up "antiquing" it by drawing crosshatch lines with it in three directions to fill the area. I do have some spare gold pens so I will be able to complete the project series.

The Twelve Days of Zentangle® - Day 3
The Day 3 video is presented by Rick and he draws a very cool variation of the tangle Well.
I don't have the project pack so I am making do with supplies that I have on hand. I cut my tile out of card stock and used a metallic gold Gelly Roll pen instead of the paint that comes in the kit. Instead of using a pastel pencil, I'm using a regular terracotta colored pencil and I blend it with odorless mineral spirits.

The Twelve Days of Zentangle® - Day 2
Today's tile features Huggins, Mooka and DooDah. Has anyone else noticed how dark the brown pen ink looks in their videos? Mine looks much lighter, even if I go back over my lines. In real life, it would be impossible to mistake the brown for black like it appears in the videos. Perhaps the official Zentangle tiles absorb more of the ink and make it look darker than on my card stock tile.
